Almond Finger Cookies |

1 Cup Soft Butter 1 Tbsp Water 1/2 Cup Sugar 1/2 Cup Almonds,
Chopped Fine 1 Tsp Almond
Extract 3 Tbsp Sugar 1 3/4 Cups Sifted
Flour 2 Squares Semi
Sweet Chocolate 1 Egg Yolk 2 Tsp Vegetable
Shortening Cream butter,
sugar (1/2 cup), and extract till fluffy. Stir in flour and refrigerate
for two (2) hours. Beat egg yolk and water. Combine almonds and sugar on
waxed paper. Pinch off about two (2) tsp dough for each cookie; roll on
floured board to size of little finger. Brush cookies with egg mixture,
dip tops in nut mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased sheets. Bake
at 375 deg for 12 minutes. Melt chocolate and shortening together, stir.
